A volumetric flask (measuring flask or graded flask) is a type of scientific glass ware that is designed to contain an exact volume at a certain temperature. Volumetric flasks are utilised for accurate dilutions and standard solution production. These flasks are typically pear-shaped, have a flat bottom, and are constructed of glass or plastic. The opening of the flask is either equipped with a plastic snap/screw cap or with a joint to allow a glass stopper. Volumetric flasks have an extended and thin neck with an engraved ring graduation indication.
