A three-legged structure used to support flasks and beakers is referred to as a laboratory tripod. Tripods are often composed of stainless steel or aluminium and are designed to be lightweight for easy mobility inside the lab. To get a flat basis for glassware, a wire gauze is frequently put on top of the tripod. Tripods are often tall enough to accommodate a bunsen burner below.
