Monocot roots are fibrous, which means they create a dense network of thin roots that grow from the stem and stay near to the soil's surface. Water travels through numerous tissue layers in monocot roots before reaching the root's core vascular cylinder. The vascular bundles of monocot roots are organised in a circular configuration. The xylem and phloem tissue bundles are organised in a circle around the core pith, that is made up of ground tissue. Monocot roots have more vascular structures than dicot roots. This model will help to understand the proper schematics.
