The largest organ is the skin, which covers the body's outer surface. The integumentary system is made up of skin and its accessory structures (hair, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, and nails). The major purposes are to protect the body from the surroundings and to keep water from evaporating. There are two types of skin. Those are  Thick skin which encircles the palms of the hands and also the soles of the feet. Skin that is thin and covers the rest of the body. The skin is made up of two layers: The epidermis is the outer layer of stratified keratinized squamous epithelium and dermis – the underlying layer of thick, uneven connective tissue containing various structures (such as hair follicles and sweat glands). The hypodermis is a layer of loose connective tissue and adipose tissue that lies underneath the dermis.
