The columnar epithelium is made up of columnar epithelial cells. The cells are wider and higher. Its height is almost four times that of its breadth. Each cell's nucleus is elongated and frequently located towards the base. Mucus mobility is aided by ciliated columnar cells. The number of layers that make up the columnar epithelium allows it to be classed. The cells are arranged in such a way that they appear to be in numerous layers, although there is only one layer of epithelial cells. Goblet cells, which line the throat, sex organs, respiratory system, fallopian tubes, and other organs, are examples of columnar epithelia.
