A beaker is a cylindrical container with a flat bottom that is commonly used in laboratories. Most include a tiny spout (or "beak") to help with pouring, as illustrated in the image. Beakers come in a variety of sizes, ranging from one millilitre to many litres. A beaker differs from a flask in that its sides are straight rather than slanted. A slightly conical-sided beaker known as a Philips beaker is an exception to this criterion. In general, the beaker form is comparable in drinkware.
